Get ready for a challenging mountain biking adventure on the "MTB sulle rive dell'Adda - Giro ad anello" trail near Trezzo sull'Adda. This difficult 26.8-mile (43.1 km) loop will test your advanced riding skills with an elevation gain of 1774 feet (541 metres), typically taking around 3 hours and 25 minutes to complete. As you ride, you'll experience diverse terrain; the Milan bank offers an easier, classic riverside pedal, while the Bergamo side presents a more technical challenge with numerous uphills, downhills, roots, stones, and foliage. You'll enjoy panoramic views of the Adda River and its emerald green waters, passing through lush greenery and protected areas like the WWF Le Foppe Oasis. Keep an eye out for the historic Bertini hydroelectric plant, a prominent landmark along the way.

This route is designed for riders with good training and advanced mountain biking skills, as some sections are technically demanding, rated around STS S3 - S6. Be prepared that you may need to push your bike through certain parts. Since the trail is a loop, you can start and finish at various points along the circuit, making it convenient to plan your day. Always check local conditions before you go, especially regarding weather, as the technical sections can become more challenging when wet.

Beyond the varied terrain and scenic views, this trail is rich in history and culture. You'll pass by the historic Bertini hydroelectric plant, one of Europe's oldest operational power stations. The area also holds connections to Leonardo da Vinci, with references to his designs for canals and hydraulic locks, and even some river views that inspired his paintings. The route may also take you near Crespi d'Adda, a UNESCO World Heritage site, adding another layer of interest to your ride.
