From Wikipedia
The Donon (German Hohe Donne) is a mountain in the Vosges in Alsace in the Bas-Rhin department, France. With a height of 1009 m, the mountain in the municipality of Grandfontaine (German Michelbrunn) marks one of the highest elevations in the Northern Vosges (the Rocher de Mutzig is also the same height at 1009 m). It sits as a mighty red sandstone block on the granite bedrock, which is exposed in many places in the Northern Vosges. Another regional peculiarity is its pronounced peak.
The two source rivers of the Saar arise from the Donon: the Red Saar (Sarre Rouge) and the White Saar (Sarre Blanche).

The Donon (formerly "Hohe Donne") is one of the highest elevations of the northern Vosges with a height of 1009 m (the Rocher de Mutzig is also 1009 m high). During the First World War he was occupied by German troops until 1918. In World War II, the 43rd French Corps of the French Army was encircled here in 1940 and capitulated only after the armistice. The temple was built by Napoleon III. The FM antenna is 80 meters high.
