Mountain biking
The Bissendorfer Moor is a large, treeless and mostly still raised, near-natural raised moor in the North German lowlands. As is typical for moors, there are open moor areas in the centre of the area with the characteristic moor vegetation of bell heather and heather, narrow-leaved and sharp-edged cotton grass and sphagnum moss. The area is also characterised by a dystrophic moor pond. Closed sphagnum quaking meadows have developed in the former peat pits, and pine-birch moor forests with lots of standing and lying dead wood have developed on the edge of the moor.
