With its 115 hectares, the Venusberg nature reserve is the largest nature reserve in the Böblingen district. The Venusberg is one of the far-reaching hilltops that tower over the flat, undulating limestone landscape in Heckengäu.
The Venusberg plateau offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area. The nature reserve encompasses a richly structured landscape of closely interconnected heath, forest and meadow areas, bushes, hedges and stone ledges. A diverse range of plants and animals with rare species find optimal conditions in this protected area.
The largest juniper heath in the district stretches around the top of the 537 meter high Venusberg. The Wolfsäcker area is characterized by heath and hay meadows and is home to numerous rare plants and animals.
