Beautiful section of the karstic trail. Created by a so-called karst, which was created thousands of years ago by weathering and erosion and torrents. Today this part is a nature reserve with remarkable flora and fauna.

This dry valley is probably the brook bed dug by the "glacial Erdbach". Its lower part has a pronounced gorge-like character on an area of 600 meters.
The slopes of the Gasseschlucht are covered by a species-rich mixed deciduous forest in which besides beech, ash and maple also beautiful elms (which are unfortunately the Ulmensplintkäfer victim) and Linden attract attention.

At the end of the gorge, after the Schützenhaus, the Erdbach again emerges from the mountain.
Because of the small outlet opening, the water can accumulate in the mountain and then exits at other places from the mountain.
