The Hohe Ifen is 2230 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Allgäu Alps, west of the Kleinwalsertal.Definitely a mountain range with a lot of ambition. Good stamina and surefootedness are required for the ascent. In good weather conditions the view is indescribable.

The Hohe Ifen (2230m) is the most unusual Allgäu mountain. A green plateau, gently sloping south from the summit, falls on all four sides with low but often vertical walls, known as the Ifenmauer. In the north, a kilometer-wide karst area is located in front of the Hoher Ifen, which bears the name Gottesacker because of the often missing vegetation. Schratten is the name given to the special form of karst weathering, which is known as karren in other regions.
