The brewery was built on the initiative of Brieger Aktien-Brauerei-Gesellschaft. Beer production started there in 1898 and quickly became a competition for the Książęce Brewery in Tychy. In 1899, a convention on uniform beer prices in retail trade was concluded between both breweries in Tychy, and in 1918 90% of the shares of Browar Obywatelski were purchased by the princely board of Pszczyna, which eliminated mutual competition. In 1936, Browar Obywatelski was leased to the compulsory administrator of the estate of the Duke of Pszczyna, and on February 1, 1939, together with Browar Książęce, it became a part of the newly established joint-stock company "Książęce Browary S.A. in Tychy".
The annual production of beer in Browar Obywatelski in the interwar period ranged from 40,000 to 50,000. hl. The brewery did not suffer significantly during World War II, which allowed for a quick start of production after the crew's involvement in the renovation and reconstruction of both breweries in Tychy - the production of malt resumed in 1945, and beer in 1950. Browar Obywatelski was nationalized on February 1, 1945. Until 1949 it was subordinate to the Książęce Brewery, and then until 1950 it operated as an independent enterprise subject to the State Union of Brewing Industry in Zabrze. After being a part of Tyskie Zakłady Piwowarskie from 1951 to 1975, Browar Obywatelski was subordinate to Górnośląskie Zakłady Piwowarskie. On January 1, 1980, it became part of Zakłady Piwowarskie in Tychy.
In 2001, its buildings became the property of a private company that runs a science and technology park and gastronomy on its premises.
In recent years, many facilities have been revitalized and each year you can enjoy the look of this facility more and more.

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to drink beer. Maybe because it's a person.
