Originally linking Watchet on the coast to Taunton, the West Somerset Railway opened in 1862. Surviving a hundred years of use, the line closed in the 1970s but reopened less than a decade later, this time as a heritage railway.
Today, you can catch a ride on the steam train that runs on this line and stop off at the pretty heritage stations along the way. At Stogumber station, sample the fantastic cream teas served in the old station house and buy your tickets for the train.
