History
The Romanesque church of S. Maria di Savonuzzo, known as S. Venanzio, was built in 1344 on the back of an ancient river bed at the behest of Giovanni da Saletta, feudal lord of the area, as indicated by the plaque on the façade.
In fact, he intended to endow his possessions with a place for the care of souls.

After several acquisitions, the church was donated in 1983 by the last owner to the Municipality of Copparo and to Ferrariae Decus.

Inside the church some remains of valuable frescoes from the 14th century Bolognese school have been recovered. dedicated to the life stories of the Virgin.
