The port of Spieka-Neufeld is the northernmost and probably most original of the three sewer ports on the Wurster North Sea coast. It is located at the landward end of the “Spiekaer Tief”, a tidal creek that forms the channel to the harbor and the North Sea during floods. Behind the Spikaer-Siel it continues inland as a drainage canal.Like the harbors in the Wursten region, the port of Spieka-Neufeld is also dependent on the tide. It can only be accessed at high tide and is almost completely dry at low tide. The cutters and pleasure boats then no longer float on the water but lie in the mud.
