Tips
The hermitage of Montecorona is located not far from the city of Umbertide in an isolated context. Born in the sixteenth century, on the top of the mountain - 700 m. in a forest of fir and chestnut trees - it always had a close and deep bond with the abbey of San Salvatore to which it was connected by a paved road: if the former was the center of religious life, the abbey was the seat of economic activities and refuge for old and sick monks, no longer able to respect the strict rules of the eremitical life.
