According to one of the most well-known legends, a tavern once stood on the site of the collapse of Strėva, where devils used to live. It is said that they postponed the wedding on one day of fasting. As soon as the roosters crowed, the tavern began to burn with all the devils feasting in it. Local residents say that even these days mysterious and strange sounds sometimes come from the sinkhole. Today, the ridge of the roof of a wooden house sticks out at the bottom of the Strėva ravine like a reminder of a legend.
