Mountain Biking Highlight
The Heidenschuh is a mountain castle (Ringwallanlage) on the Treitelsberg at Klingenmünster in Rhineland-Palatinate. It is a characteristic example of a barrier of a steep mountain tongue (section attachment). It was built for emergencies and served in imminent danger as a refuge for the inmates of the monastery Klingenmünster and the population of the surrounding villages.
