One of the oldest buildings in Hermsdorf, located on Alte Regensburger Strasse, is the former inn "Zum Schwarzen Bär in the green forest" (later only called Gasthof "Zum Schwarzen Bär"). Probably built around 1200, burned down around 1450 and again in 1640, it was rebuilt in 1646. In earlier times this break was the most important place to stop in Hermsdorf. A hostel is said to have existed before 1646. The former carter inn was relaxation for all arriving and passing carts and dealers. By 1840 a number of extensions were made, such as the construction of the hall and the construction of the stables and carriage houses. The existing dance hall was set up as a cinema and leased from the 1920s.
