It is not a summit cross, but a cross in the forest. You can rest, listen to birdsong or listen to yourself.
A poem by Johannes Kandel follows as a small suggestion:

The cross in the forest
Love of God poem

The path leads steeply uphill through green forest,
the fir trees tilt their faces slightly in the wind.
A cold fog rises from the mossy ground,
hides the way from me, blinds my eyes.

It is the way to the holy place on the summit,
a cross is there as a warning and a call.
Far spanning all the fir tops
and vast land that the Almighty once created.

Emerging from the dark spell of the fir trees,
I see the cross there.
It shows what I can't believe
what once happened on Golgotha.

Adoring I remain in place
remember what the Lord suffered for me.
Think of the comfort in his word.
would like to thankfully ask for his blessing here!
