Road Cycling Highlight
During the 1970s, a disagreement between Wettringen in Bavaria and Weikersholz near Rot am See in Baden-Württemberg peaked when the origin of the Tauber actually lay. Since the blade fountain at Weikersholz, which is marked with a stone, is the top source that constantly pours, this fountain has been regarded as the origin of the Tauber since 1976. From here, about half a kilometer east of Weikersholz, the river has a length of about 129.1 km , a ditch upper course, which then brings its length to 131.6 km , arises on the northeastern edge of the forest Espan about half a kilometer northwest at about 467 m above sea level.
