Some of the former firing positions on the Ackersberg, which were abandoned by the army in March 1945, are still partially buried.
As part of the West Wall and the air defense zone (LVZ), this facility is under monument protection.
In the immediate vicinity, under forest, meadows and plots of vineyards, there are still the remains of seven other gun, crew or ammunition shelters.
