The former Cistercian monastery of Schweinheim is located below the dam of the Steinbach dam. It was first mentioned in a document in 1238. The Schweinheim monastery financed itself through viticulture but also through the fees that the mostly noble houses had to pay for taking in their daughters. At the beginning of the 18th century the monastery was completely destroyed and later rebuilt. In the course of secularization, the French dissolved the monastery in 1802 and gave the property a secular use. Today the monastery is a seminar house.
