Tips
After a demanding climb to the cult site of the Minoans to the Kamara cave, you will be rewarded with a great view of the sea and the Messara plain. You can also make your own cave tour. Depending on the depth, courage and a good headlamp are necessary.The treasures of the Minoans found here can be seen in the Herakleon Archaeological Museum (very well presented, admission 6 € (2018) for adults).

From Kamares it takes about three hours to climb (5 km and 1100 meters altitude, T3), very demanding. It is also 5 km from the Nida plateau, but only 400 meters in altitude (T2).
