Hiking
After a demanding climb to the cult site of the Minoans to the Kamara cave, you will be rewarded with a great view of the sea and the Messara plain. You can also make your own cave tour. Depending on the depth, courage and a good headlamp are necessary.

Mountaineering
The Kamares Cave is a large open chamber opening towards the Libyan Sea on the southern flank of the Ida Mountains. In itself, the cave is not as spectacular as others, but due to the huge opening and the view, it is not common. The hardships of the ascent are worth it.

Hiking
From Kamares it takes about three hours to climb (5 km and 1100 meters altitude, T3), very demanding. It is also 5 km from the Nida plateau, but only 400 meters in altitude (T2).
