Chapel of the Madonna Noli Me Tollere

The rural chapel was built in memory of the procession that carried the statue of the Madonna from the beach of Rena Bianca to the Parish of Sorso. The statue was placed on the ground in the Predugnanu locality and left its imprint impressed on a boulder. From that moment the place was defined sacred and in 1908 the Friars erected a stele to signal its sanctity, until 1949 when the Farmers' Society, as a sign of thanks to the Madonna for the protection during the war, built the chapel by incorporating the boulder to the inside. Recently restored, the chapel has a gabled profile and is built in brick, while on the facade there are two marble slabs that recall its construction and carry the phrase: Stop, or passenger and your head bowed, greets the great Queen in the sky.
