The representative building was built from 1892 to 1896 as the residence of the Lithuanian-Polish mathematician, electrical engineer and inventor Bruno Abdank-Abakanowicz in the neo-Gothic historicist style based on the model of medieval castles.It has been the second home of the German actor Dieter Hallervorden since 1988.Hallervorden itself uses the island as a summer residence.
