Very impressive highland track through the middle of Iceland. Desert and desert-like area. You have to ford rivers several times. You should bring food for the whole route, as you can only buy a few snacks in the huts along the way. In 2016, one of the huts was closed all summer - you have to be well organized or camp wild.
The track has many, sometimes steep, inclines. Next time I would definitely go on a mountain bike, not a touring bike. Our sugar cubes were completely crushed by the shaking 😁
