From 1647 onwards, the Norbertine sisters of Sint-Catharinadal lived in the Blauwe Camer castle, which was built around 1400. This was once the noble house of prominent residents of Oosterhout and in the beginning even of a knighthood. It is one of the so-called 'slotjes' (mansions) of Oosterhout. The name the 'Blue Camer' is taken from the bright blue color of the wall in the 'camer' of the characteristic square castle tower.
