Almost 50 kilometers by road southwest of Vienna is the north-easternmost one-thousand-meter summit in the Alps: the 1037 m high Hocheck. In the snow-free time, the summit can be reached via an asphalt toll road that begins at Furth in the Triestingtal. Above you will find a wooden lookout point, which offers an excellent panoramic view of the eastern foothills of the Alps as far as Hochkar and Dürrenstein, as well as a managed refuge.
