Sometimes it's the small, unexpected places on a hike that stick out in your memory. This wayside shrine in the middle of the forest with its small pool really caught my attention. I think places like this are a wonderful invitation to pause for a moment, absorb the tranquility of the forest, and take a moment to yourself.
