Certainly one of the most beautiful places in the capriasca valley.
This place offers a magnificent 360° view over Lugano's lake and the surrounding alpine chain.
Caval Drossa can be reached from "Gola di Lago" towards "Motto della Croce" and continuing towards the peak "Caval Drossa" at 1632 mt.
Caval Drossa (1632 mt) can also be easily reached from the top of Monte Bar (1816 mt). Not so far from the top of "Monte Bar" there is a nice modern hut (for info capannamontebar.ch).

The Caval Drossa (1632 m) is rather the large shoulder of Monte Bar. It marks the western end of the Gazzirola-Monte Bar chain and is ideal if you want to make a ridge traverse (from the Motto della Croce to the Bar). The summit offers a magnificent 360° view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding Alpine chain.
