The Way of the Cross in Assamstadt, a municipality in the Main-Tauber district in Baden-Württemberg, is located southeast of Assamstadt in a forest area that begins above the Asmundhalle. At the beginning of the Second World War, the parish and the pastor Wilhelm Frank promised to build a way of the cross on the way to the Steffeskirchle in case the parish of Assamstadt survived the war more or less unscathed. After the end of the war, the sculptor Anton Göbel from Assamstadt was commissioned to make the Way of the Cross. From 1946 to 1949 the artist created the 14 stations and two more as preliminary and final stations. [1] The stations of the cross are made of carved wood
