Built in 1475, half demolished in 1856. Due to an incorrect translation from Low German, Oelcken (=Iltis)thurm became the Owl Tower. The tower, built in 1475, was still used as a prison in the 18th century. In 1790, it served as a powder magazine for the Unna garrison, and later it was used as a workplace by several private individuals. A Wilhelm Hirsch is listed in the 1847 Unna city register. He was a knacker (responsible for the disposal of animal carcasses). At the same time, he also practiced the profession of "executioner," or executioner. He first leased the tower, then bought it, and in 1856, demolished the upper floor of the tower. As part of the city's redevelopment, the restored tower was integrated into the newly built restaurant in 1983.
