    Hiking

The Wentwood Ridge runs north east for over 8 miles (13 km) from Caerleon. On a good day, the views are spectacular, with the Severn Bridges, the Black Mountains and the Usk Valley all on display. There are a number of archeological sites along the ridge, such as the Caer Licyn earthworks. It is the major feature in the opening stages of the Usk Valley Walk, a long-distance hike between Caerleon and Brecon.
