Heading north Wake Road seems like a lesser used road up to the Miller&Carter roundabout. Smooth tarmac with no potholes to dodge, a barely noticeable incline, and very few cars (or perhaps I just got lucky). The woodland on either side seems to absorb the local traffic noise and with the sun shining down it's a lovely few minutes of escapism on two wheels.

As always, go early in the morning to enjoy the beauty of this stretch. The side of the road is prone to have massive potholes, so I suggest keeping to the middle of the lane.

A beautiful road through the middle of Epping Forest to catch your breath in after climbing Mott Street or Jacks Hill.

Really low traffic levels and perfect tarmac with no potholes.
