Excerpt from the leaflet "Circular hiking trail Gesees 3 - around Forkendorf":
    "Location 10: Weiler Forstmühle
Along the Forkendorfer Bach, which has only a small water flow
shows, with the forest mill we find a single flour mill in the valley. the
Mühle was first mentioned in a document in 1556. It burned down completely in 1836,
but was rebuilt in 1837 as a sandstone building. Since 1925
will it no longer be operated as a mill; today it is a residential building.
For centuries it was just a wasteland, so the district of Forst-
mill today as a hamlet settlement. But this is just a development
development of the 20th century. Pastor Hübsch describes the place as late as 1842
Mill and day laborer's house with two families comprising ten people.
In the address book from 1939, p. 57, there are only two for the forest mill
House numbers (belonging to Forkendorf), mentioned: No. 17 Weydenham-
mer (this is the mill) and No. 22 Ruhr (the former day laborer's house).
And so nothing has changed structurally since 1850.
Via the detour of a weekend house settlement since the 1930s (the
turned into permanent residences) the Einödhof became a hamlet."

The mill is no longer used as such, the village can only be reached via a gravel road. More animals than people live here 🐑🐏🐴🪿

Excerpt from the information board at the hamlet:
"The leisure settlements of the Nazi era:
What these figures do not reveal, however, is a new development
development that took place during the National Socialist period, viz
with prominent participation of the district chief and
SS Standartenfuhrer Heinrich Horlbeck. There were now more
more spacious weekend house settlements, whose building
approvals there are no documents. The houses of this
were so generously dimensioned that they gradually became permanent
residences mutated, which the community tolerated. the
(smaller) weekend home properties applied for their
building to be allowed to expand in a similar way. On July 20, 1972
then became the function by Gesees municipal council resolution
of leisure residences approved as permanent residences.
Today the Forstmühle is a romantically located residential area."
