The artificially created pond was the first pumped storage plant in Switzerland in 1907 and was practically created by hand at the time.
At the Engeweiher there is a covered seating area with a barbecue area and a children's playground. The area around the Schaffhauser Weiher is often used today for various leisure activities such as walking or jogging.
