Although united in a single municipality, the two villages of Erto and Casso present profound differences in history, language and traditions.
However, there are two elements that unite them: a particular architecture, for which they were declared a national monument, and the 1963 Vajont disaster, which hit them both hard. Today the memory of the tragedy remains alive in the permanent exhibition set up in the Visitor Center in Erto.
For lovers of nature and excursions, the surroundings offer numerous routes in the splendid setting of the Friulian Dolomites.
In Erto there is also a renowned climbing wall known internationally.
