The first writings mentioning the church appear in the 8th century AD, by the monks of the prosperous Wissembourg abbey.
In the 12th century the parish was attached to the new Cistercian abbey of Neubourg, until the Revolution.
Church probably rebuilt several times over the centuries, we know better the one built in 1747.
