In Valconca, a few kilometers from the sea, the characteristic profile of Saludecio stands out on a knoll with bell towers, towers and walls. A stop at the Bar Novecento is mandatory.

The town, a Malatesta stronghold, is at the center of a crown of defensive castles, the last bastion of Rimini against the nearby Urbino of the Montefeltro. The structure of the center still reveals its medieval structure today, with the maze of alleys enclosed by the walls and the monumental access gates: marine gate and mountain gate, for the defense towards the sea and towards the hinterland. The thirteenth and fourteenth centuries saw an alternation of power, on these lands, between the papal state and the lordship of the Malatesta of Rimini. Then, following the attempted revolt of the Ondedei di Saludecio (1336) against Ferrantino, Malatestino and Guido Malatesti (which failed due to a betrayal), total dependence on the Malatesti was imposed on Saludecio.
