The work is a print of Gramsma's excavation work in the Flevogrond, and reflects the cultivation and artificiality of the polder. Gramsma’s newly formed landscape provides shelter for animals and mosses. Visitors can enter the stairs to let their gaze wander from above over the old land at Elburg and the new man-made landscape with its dikes, roads and ditches.

Road cycling

On June 14, 1918, the Zuiderzee Law came into force, which allowed the construction of the Flevopolder. On the occasion of 100 years of the Zuiderzee Act, Bob Gramsma designed the Riff memorial, PD # 18245, in 2018. It stands as a huge, raised lump of clay on a flat, former agricultural property in Dronten.

The structure of the artwork is important. Gramsma poured a mound of 15,000 cubic meters of agricultural and Zuiderzee soil on three pile foundations and on the basis of a complex construction as it is used in bridge and boat building.
