The walk over the Besthmenerberg leads past the monument of Camp Erika. During the Second World War, Camp Erika was a punishment camp. After the war, 2,000 collaborators were imprisoned as part of special justice pending their trial. It mainly concerned people who had been members of the NSB. In December 1946 the camp was closed completely.

In front of this there was a boulder with a wooden cross. The monument consists of four concrete blocks. Two of them show a map of the camp and one has a nice text. The story on one of the concrete blocks is an impressive story. I slowly walk past all the blocks and literally and figuratively pause to think about what happened here.
