The Carabaña Town Hall dates from the mid-20th century. After several unsuccessful negotiations to acquire the palatial house in the same square, the land occupied by a cheese factory is acquired. It was inaugurated in 1960. The building has three floors and continuous arcades.

In the same square there is another important building: the Palace of the Plaza de España, a palatial house from the mid-16th century. According to the chronicles, it belonged to a lord of the town.

In the 18th century it was already one of the most important buildings. In addition to a residential space, it had gardens, a grain store, a vegetable garden and a fenced avenue.

The deterioration of the so-called “Casa del Señorío” begins in the 19th century. Even so, at the beginning of the 20th century, the rooms on the upper floor were turned into a school and, with the outbreak of war, it became a Post Office.

After the failed purchase attempt by the city council to enable it as its headquarters, the palace is divided into private homes.

Signs of past greatness are still evident. Proof of this are the studded wooden door and a stone lintel. Inside there are stone columns with their original wooden capitals.
