The wayside shrine by the wayside is meant to commemorate the small settlement of Kaplička (chapels) on Starý Herštejn. The patron saint of hunters is shown together with a deer and in the background the memorial stick itself. This is intended to indicate that a forester's house stood here until the early post-war period. Much more important, however, would be a mention of the old pilgrimage chapel, from which the hermitage got its name.
