A hamlet of the Montescudo-Monte Colombo municipality, Montescudo was an autonomous municipality until 31 December 2015. A village of Malatesta origins, the local potato festival is particularly famous, a typical variety which is harvested in the month of August.

Montescudo is situated on a small hill, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and grain fields and with a wonderful view of the sea. The small town has a beautiful old town, which is characterized by the typical brick houses, an old defensive wall with a watchtower and the castle. The medieval cooling and ice cellar is also worth seeing.
