Montescudo

Fraction of the Montescudo-Monte Colombo municipality, Montescudo was an autonomous municipality until 31 December 2015. A village of Malatesta origin, the local potato festival is particularly famous, a typical variety that is harvested in August.

Montescudo is situated on a small hill, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and grain fields and with a wonderful view of the sea. The small town has a beautiful old town, which is characterized by the typical brick houses, an old defensive wall with a watchtower and the castle. The medieval cooling and ice cellar is also worth seeing.

You can get to Montescudo also passing from Albereto, the climb is really hard, they are about 2.5 km with an average gradient of over 17%

Last stretch of climb coming from Coriano is pretty cool! But the view deserves the effort.
