Information about the death boards is available at station 9 of the gold educational trail. According to popular belief, the dead man's soul has no rest until the death board has completely crumbled. To speed up the process, preference was given to soft wood that was also exposed to the elements. It is interesting that on this path there is the border between the lying (north) and the standing (south) boards.
