Tiring but fantastic ridge climb that ends at (the former?) Camp 2 at 2,800m. At the end of the ridge you are on a side or neighboring summit of the Fansipan and on the way to this you have to descend again about 150hm. The path is still worth it, because in good weather there are always wonderful views of the very peculiar mountain landscape around you. The path is not exposed, but keeps dodging the flanks and then leads back quite steeply to the ridge. It feels a little like incessantly climbing stairs. Often manual use is required for quick progress.

(Committed in October 2015 before the opening of the cable car: At that time this was the main route to the Fansipan and accordingly well maintained, i.e. not overgrown and sometimes even provided with wooden railings. Current status not known.)
