Going up on the Rocca di Monfalcone you can reach a crossroads near the motorway (you pass under it) via dirt roads, from which numerous tracks branch off that lead to the karst places. I chose one to reach Lake Doberdò which at some point can be difficult due to the presence of sloping stony ground. It is not a long stretch but it is certainly tough. You reach the asphalted road and after 100m take the path that leads to the lake.
