Planjava is the highest and most powerful mountain in the eastern part of the Kamnik and Savinja Alps. It has two peaks east and west. A marked path leads to the eastern 2 meter lower peak. The peak, which has an entry box, has a beautiful view of the Kamnik and Savinja Alps. In the west, its precipice rises above the Kamnik saddle, and to the east, a long ridge flows from the top towards Škarje. In the north, an almost vertical 1000 m high excavated wall falls into Kot or the conclusion of the Logarska valley, while the southern slope descends from the rocky cliff over steep grassy slopes and smooth jumps into Repov kot. The first tourist to climb Planjava in 1793 was Count Franz Hohenwart together with the local Spruk from Kamniška Bistrica; they came through Repov kot. Before them, however, the home hunters were reliably at the top. Dr. Frischauf was first on Planjava in 1878. Today, Planjava is one of the most visited mountains in the Kamnik and Savinja Alps; even mountaineers like to climb within its walls. The view from the top is just as beautiful and extensive as described at Ojstrica; from Planjava, the pointed Ojstrica appears in the most beautiful light.
