The rest area is at the Oberauer Bleichgässi and bathing area. For the citizens of Oberau this was the access to the laundry bleaching facility. At the end of the 50s and beginning of the 60s, however, bathing in the Nidder was prohibited by the authorities because the water was contaminated.
