The first documented mention from the year 1252 relates to the subjugated in the late 16th century district Aschbach. Excavations on the remains of the former church of Aschbach have demonstrated the emergence of this chapel in the early Middle Ages; the gothic door and its windows have apparently been retrofitted into the much older building.
