        At the time, this quarry was a stone supplier for the Bözberg tunnel. Good quality limestone was extracted here for the construction of the railway tunnel and used to strengthen the tunnel. In later years, the communities of Linn and Gallenkirch needed the extracted rock as marl gravel for road construction.
