Chancellor Max Emmanuel von Preysing knocked it off his horse while hunting in 1735 and remained unconscious. Elector Karl Albrecht had this monument erected on the site of the accident in honor of the Mother of God. 2 benches have been set up for tired hikers and cyclists!

"Standing in God's mercy, power is always grad", reads the inscription, which was carved into the stone of Preysingsäule.The story goes like this: In 1735 fell Max Emmanuel von Preysing, the first chancellor of the Grand Prince Karl Albrecht, in a hunt on horseback Grateful for the full recovery of his Grand Chancellor, the Elector had a memorial erected on his honor in honor of Mary - the Preysing Column.
