Milton Ernest is a pleasant Bedfordshire village with strong associations with the Second World War. The United States Eighth Air Force's support command headquarters was in Milton Ernest Hall, which is today a nursing home and is Grade I-listed.

There is some splendid walking in the surrounding countryside's pastures and little pockets of woodland. Harrold-Odell Country park is not too far away, with its scenic lakes and vibrant water meadows.
