When I first spotted the bicycle figures from a distance a long time ago... I thought what strange exercises the birds were doing there on the meadow...

Since the state horticultural show was opened in Leverkusen in 2005, the city has again had “a bank of the Rhine with great local recreational value”: We are talking about the Neuland Park. The gem was created on the "Dhünnaue Mitte" site. Bayer AG used the 25 hectares on the Rhine from 1923 to the late 1940s as a plant landfill. In order to secure the contaminated site with a sealing system, a highly complex technical structure was built between 1995 and 2000. The 2005 State Garden Show attracted more than half a million visitors to the site, and on January 2, 2006, the “Neuland Park” opened its doors.

Ideal for a break! The park is very nicely laid out!
